Gewichtserfassung (WIM)

Das ASTRA betreibt rund fünfzehn Anlagen zur dynamischen Gewichtserfassung (WIM). Diese erfassen Achslasten, Gesamtgewichte sowie weitere Fahrzeugdaten und liefern wichtige Grundlagen für Planung, Forschung und die Dimensionierung des Strassennetzes.

Das ASTRA betreibt in Zusammenarbeit mit der Eidgenössischen Zollverwaltung auf dem Nationalstrassennetz derzeit etwa fünfzehn WIM-Anlagen zur dynamischen Gewichtserfassung (WIM = Weigh In Motion).

Diese Anlagen erfassen für jedes Fahrzeug folgende Daten: Achslasten, Gesamtgewicht, Achsabstände, Fahrzeuglänge, Geschwindigkeit, Klassifizierung nach SWISS 10 sowie Abstand zum vorderen Fahrzeug.

Die erfassten Daten werden in Form statistischer Jahresberichte für jede Anlage aufbereitet. Die Gewichtsdaten werden zur Berechnung der Äquivalenzfaktoren für Schwerverkehrsfahrzeuge verwendet. Zudem fliessen die WIM-Daten in verschiedene spezifische Forschungs- und Tiefbauprojekte ein.

Insgesamt dienen die aus der dynamischen Gewichtserfassung gewonnenen Daten verschiedensten Zwecken wie zum Beispiel der Dimensionierung von Strassen und Kunstbauten, der Projektierung von Unterhaltsarbeiten im Rahmen der Erhaltungsplanung, der Durchführung von Studien und Sicherheitsanalysen für spezifische Projekte, der Erstellung statistischer Wirtschafts- und Verkehrsindikatoren.
