FEDRO offers data records on vehicle stocks, new registrations and vehicle types from the Vehicle Admission Information System (VAIS). This includes data records on vehicle totals, new registrations and vehicle types. No personal information is disclosed.

In its newsletter, FEDRO provides information about new data sets, changes to existing data sets or the file repository, as well as other important news relating to the release of vehicle data.

The available information products from FEDRO fall into three categories:
1. Standard data records with unrestricted access (Open Data)
FEDRO is making the following anonymised technical and other data publicly accessible: vehicle inventories (excluding owners’ postcodes and locations), new vehicle registrations, vehicle types.
The freely accessible standard data sets can now be accessed at https://opendata.astra.admin.ch/ivzod. Attention: Due to a system change, the links to the datasets have changed. Old links are no longer valid as of 31.12.2022.
Users are required to certify that they will use data carefully and responsibly.
2. Fee-based standard data records
Fee-based standard data records give vehicle totals with additional details (postal code and city of the owner) and can be used to match number plates to vehicle type data.
To get access to these records, a registered user account must be created. The account requires payment of a one-time account fee and additional fees for every data record delivered. It is possible to order data records for regular delivery (subscription order).
To order data, use the application form provided. For a subscription order, FEDRO can set up a password-protected space in which the data will be placed for downloading.
For companies based abroad, please enclose an extract from the Commercial Register.
3. Fee-based analysis and customized data records
FEDRO can perform some analysis and provide customized data on vehicle statistics. Personal data may be included in the analysis, but can only be released in suitable aggregate form. Customer-specific data records do not contain any personal information.
The FEDRO fee structure is based on the amount of time required to develop and prepare the data record for delivery. Depending on the content of the data and the depiction required, a registered user account may be needed, subject to fees. Data records and analysis can be ordered for regular delivery (subscription order). FEDRO may provide some analysis to the general public (Open Data).
