In 2015, a total of 1,110,397 heavy goods vehicles crossed theAlps on Switzerland’s roads (a decrease by 13,106 vehicles, or1.2 percent,versus 2014). Thus, the downward trend persisted(a decrease by 1.7 percent had already been recorded in thepreviousyear). The figure of 1.11 million HGVs is slightly belowthe average for the past ten years (1.25 million). The biggestdecreaseswere recorded at the Gotthard and Grand St. Bernard(9 percent at the latter).
