100 km/h speed limit for light vehicles with trailers

If you are towing a trailer with your car or delivery vehicle, the applicable speed limit on motorways is 100 km/h. The maximum permissible weight of the trailer is 3.5 tonnes and it must be approved for the 100 km/h speed limit. This also applies to the towing vehicle and tyres. Before commencing your journey it is advisable to clarify the applicable speed limit and maximum permissible weight by consulting your dealer and/or the relevant road traffic authority.

Use of driver assistance systems

Use driver assistance systems such as your vehicle’s adaptive cruise control with the necessary degree of caution. The driver always bears ultimate responsibility. Always remain alert when using driver assistance and warning systems.

Try to avoid peak periods

Most traffic jams are caused by heavy traffic during peak periods (6.30 to 9 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m.). Try to avoid travelling during these periods. Where possible, join or form a car-sharing group.
